Frequently asked questions

Getting started with Moodby

How much does Unisono cost for a restaurant or café?

The fee depends on area and use. The official 2026 example for a 100 m² café with standard background music is — excluding VAT per year. Choose your own type and area in the calculator.

What do Sabam, PlayRight and SIMIM fees include?

They cover different rights in musical works, performances and recordings. Unisono collects the applicable fees. A separate music-service subscription is not included.

Why do some tariffs need clarification?

Overlapping bands, conflicting published supplements and special or mixed uses cannot be turned into a complete price without confirmation. Unknown amounts are not zero.

What is Moodby?

Moodby is a business music service. Its royalty-free catalogue is designed for everyday background playback.

Can I try it first?

Yes. Start a free trial, listen to the music and try the service in your business.

What does one music zone include?

One zone plays the same music in several rooms and through several speaker groups. Different music at the same time requires separate zones.

How much is the annual plan?

€225 excluding VAT per music zone. Moodby and Unisono are compared excluding VAT.

Why include a Unisono calculator?

It shows the cost of ordinary protected repertoire and the potential annual price difference when switching to one Moodby plan.

How are Unisono fees calculated for a SPA?

Choose the area type first. Sauna/wellness uses the published sauna tariff; beauty-treatment salons and waiting areas use their own tariffs. Enter the indoor area where background music is audible. A mixed SPA or café is not covered by one sauna-area total.

Are doctors and clinics automatically exempt from music fees?

No. Copyright fees still apply to practice waiting areas. Unisono describes six cumulative conditions for neighbouring-rights relief. Confirm them in the calculator; otherwise use the ordinary tariff or leave eligibility unresolved. This does not cover all treatment rooms or a whole hospital.
