Spotify isn't built for business.
Moodby is.

Personal Spotify accounts are not licensed for public playback. Moodby gives your venue curated music cleared for commercial use, plus a certificate of compliance.

The personal playlist problem

Your subscription covers you. Not the room you play it in.

A personal account — paid or not — covers personal listening. Moodby covers the venue: the music, the proof and the player.

Built around a commercial space

Your staff won't notice the switch. Your records will.

Same phone, same speakers, same habit of pressing play. What changes is the account it all runs on — and what that account actually covers.

Straight answers

Before you switch.

Can I use my personal Spotify account in my venue?

No. Spotify's own terms licence the service for personal, non-commercial listening. Playing music for customers is public playback, so a personal subscription — free or paid — does not cover the venue.

Do I need a OneMusic licence if I use Moodby?

Not for music from Moodby's catalogue. Every track is royalty-free, so no separate OneMusic licence is required for it. If you also play radio, TV, commercial chart music or live performances in your venue, those uses are separate and you would need to check them on their own.

How do I prove the music is cleared for business use?

We send you a compliance certificate. It documents that the music playing in your venue comes from Moodby's royalty-free catalogue. Keep it with your business records and show it if anyone asks.

Is Moodby connected to Spotify?

No. Moodby is an independent background music service built for commercial venues. It does not use the Spotify catalogue and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Spotify.

What music do I get?

350+ stations of royalty-free music, organised by venue type, genre, mood and time of day, and updated regularly by professional DJs.

Do I need to buy a player?

No. Play from a compatible phone, tablet or computer, connected to the sound system already in your venue.

What happens after the free trial?

The trial runs five days and needs no credit card. After that, you can subscribe monthly, or commit upfront for one or two years.

Can my staff change the music without my account settings?

Yes. Each location and zone runs its own stream, and staff can be given access to change the daily music while your account and billing settings stay locked.
