We launch a B2B music streaming service to help venues lure guests and avoid legal issues

We are happy to announce that Moodby has launched a B2B music streaming service that includes millions of tracks, numerous playlists, and personalized stations compiled by experienced DJs.

Available on web and mobile devices, Moodby provides licensed music for commercial use in a variety of venues, involving bars, pubs, restaurants, stores, spas, gyms, and hotels. To date, the company has already signed licensing agreements with Warner Music International and Warner Chappell Music.

“Now almost all establishments are incorporating background music, especially hospitality and retail. Moodby focuses on making it available to businesses of all sizes, from small local companies to globally recognized brands.” Sergei Cherniavskiy, CEO and Co-Founder at Moodby.

Moodby introduces three complementary apps to generate, stream, and listen to music: Moodby DJ for professional music curators, Moodby Play for businesses, and Moodby for regular customers.

“Music curation entails maintaining a certain atmosphere for a given place and involves thousands of professional DJs and musicians. We provide them with a platform where music experts can generate and curate playlists tailored to different businesses and receive payouts monthly from venues that stream their playlists,” says Sergei Cherniavskiy.

Venues can use Moodby Play as a subscription-based music streaming service with playlists generated by local music curators who have extensive knowledge of genres and audiences’ tastes in their region. We’ve also introduced Moodby, a mobile jukebox app that enables guests to request music in cafes, bars, and restaurants that are Moodby Play subscribers.”

Providing access to licensed background music curated by skilled and engaged local experts, not AI algorithms, Moodby strives to take music curation to a new level.

“Our mission is to shift businesses from using B2C streaming services in venues, which is a copyright infringement, towards the legal use of music. To this end, we develop a user-friendly environment for the interaction between companies and curators with the interests and needs of B2B players, not individual music lovers. As a result, businesses won’t need to use services not designed for them as a stopgap measure.

While Moodby DJ is free for music experts, Moodby Play is a cost-effective B2B music streaming platform for any establishment. When curators and venues adopt this new legal approach, we’ll be able to talk about the accomplished reform of the background music market.” Sergei Cherniavskiy.

Being a licensed background music provider, Moodby offers an extensive collection of multi-genre tracks from major labels. Moodby has already signed dozens of agreements with famous labels, publishers, and CMOs, such as Warner Music International, Warner Chappell Music, Sony Music Publishing, ICE, Blue Sun, SUiSA Digital Licensing, SESAC, SPA, and AKM Autoren.

“While businesses benefit from tailored background music that improves customer experience and encourages guests to spend more, creators can earn on their works. As such, we have gone to great lengths to build a fair system with transparent payouts and strict licensing policies considering our customers’ needs and legitimate concerns of copyright holders.” —Sergei Cherniavskiy.

The Moodby B2B music streaming services are currently available to music curators, businesses, and their guests in Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Poland, and Romania.
